Vilanova i la Geltrú has something very few wedding destinations can offer: sea, city and countryside within a ten-minute radius. The fishing harbour that smells of salt, Catalonia's longest Rambla with its modernist facades, the beaches where the sunset paints everything orange, and just around the corner the Penedès vineyards. You don't have to choose between settings. Here you have them all.

The Rambla of Vilanova is the longest in Catalonia and also one of the least photographed at weddings. Its modernist facades, the plane trees that filter the light in summer, and the quiet social life of the promenade in the afternoons make it a setting with great character and very rarely seen in albums. For the couple shoot, the light of the last hours of the day on the facades is difficult to improve upon.
The historic heart of Vilanova. 19th-century buildings, iron balconies, ornate facades that give scale and context to any image. For weddings with a civil ceremony at the Town Hall, the square is the natural setting before and after. One of those places where the location already works on its own.
Restored medieval stone, towers, inner courtyard and walls beside the church of Santa Maria. The castle has a visual presence that few locations in the region can match. For couples who want historical weight in their photos, a context that speaks of time and permanence, the Geltrú Castle is the place.
The Museu Romàntic Can Papiol is one of the most elegant interiors in the city. Neoclassicism, rooms decorated with period precision, and a romantic garden that works extraordinarily well in photography. For a pre-wedding session or for the couple shoot that wants something out of the ordinary, Can Papiol offers a completely different register from the exterior.
Platja de Ribes Roges and Playa Llarga have something the more famous beaches of the coast don't always preserve: space, tranquillity, and a light on the water at sunset that turns any image into something hard to describe. At the foot of the Mediterranean, the Pasifae sculpture has for years been the meeting point for Vilanova's sunsets. There are images from here that need no editing.
The fishing harbour of Vilanova has a visual personality that very few wedding photographers have yet exploited. The boats, the fish market, the human scale of the pier, the light reflected in the water. For couples who want something with its own character, something they haven't already seen in other albums, the harbour is that place.
From Vilanova, the Coastal Path (Camí de Ronda) follows the coast toward Sitges between cliffs, hidden coves and views of the Mediterranean. For pre-wedding sessions or for the couple shoot with time to spare, it is one of those routes where every kilometre offers a different image. And at the end, Sitges. Two destinations, one day.
I've been working in Vilanova and throughout the region for years. I know the light at every hour on the Rambla, I know when to be at Ribes Roges for the sunset, and I have harbour locations that don't appear in any guide.
